WE ARE
The Human Resources and Security Directorate General (DG HR) includes the Commission's Security
Directorate, which is responsible for keeping Commission staff secure and ensuring the security of
our buildings, infrastructure and information against all threats.
Unit HR.DS.1 (Protection & Operations) is composed of three sectors and is in charge of providing
Protection services, running the Commission Duty Office (operating 24/7) and managing the Guards
team. HR.DS.1 is a highly motivated team, working in a challenging and rewarding environment,
requiring constant adaptation to new situations, where competence, discretion and loyalty are a
must.
The Protection Sector, HR.DS.1.001, is the largest sector and in charge of VIP close protection, in-
house security and event security. The Protection Sector is founded on a culture of professionalism
and mutual respect, where ownership, continuous improvement and collaboration are essential
WE PROPOSE
HR.DS.1.001 is seeking to hire one Security Agent for missions and logistic support.
The position will consist of providing comprehensive administrative and logistical support to official
missions within Sector Protection, working as part of a team to ensure the smooth preparation and
follow-up of all mission-related activities.
It involves in particular:
- supporting the planning and execution of official missions, including travel arrangements,
visa processing and mission documentation;
- maintaining mission tracking systems and ensuring timely dissemination of mission-related
information;
- supporting emergency preparedness and crisis response activities, including maintaining
contingency documentation and emergency contact databases;
- providing general administrative support, including drafting correspondence, managing
communications, coordinating meetings and handling budget tracking and asset

The job requires reliability, attention to detail and the ability to handle a varied workload in a
structured manner. Flexibility outside normal working hours may occasionally be required.
WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for a motivated, well-organised and dependable colleague with a practical approach
and a strong team spirit.
At least 3 years of experience in logistic support, mission coordination or protocol service is
essential, including experience with travel coordination and visa processing in a multi-country
context.
Full proficiency in English (C1) is required; a good working knowledge of French (B2) is expected.
The candidate/job holder must either be a holder of a valid security clearance up to the level of
"SECRET UE/EU SECRET" or be willing to undergo the national security vetting procedure (in order to
be allowed to perform her/his job).
The ideal profile for the job is a person with prior experience supporting a security, operations, or field coordination unit. Understanding of financial procurement procedures of the EU institutions is an advantage.

Am I eligible to apply?
You must meet the following eligibility criteria when you validate your application :

General criteria:
• Are a citizen of a Member State of the EU and enjoy full rights as a citizen
• Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by applicable laws concerning military service
• Are physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post
• Produce the appropriate character references as to suitability for the performance of the duties.
Qualifications:
In order to be recruited for this position, you must have at least
• a level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or
• a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, and appropriate professional experience of at least three years.
Only qualifications issued or recognised as equivalent by EU Member State authorities (e.g. by the Ministry of Education) will be accepted. Furthermore, before recruitment, you will be required to provide the documents that corroborate the eligibility criteria (diplomas, certificates and other supporting documents).
Languages:

have a thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU 2
• AND a satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.

Salary at this grade
Basic monthly salary at AST-SC1 runs from €3,292 (step 1) to €3,725 (top step), giving an annual range of roughly €39,504 to €44,700 before tax and allowances. Steps increase automatically every two years; the figures here are taken from the salary grid in the EU Staff Regulations.
Eligible staff posted away from their country of nationality also receive an expatriation allowance worth 16% of basic salary (around €527 per month at step 1 of AST-SC1) together with household, dependent-child, and education allowances where applicable.
